Stitches OUT, teeth brushed and UP on her feet!

This has been a GREAT week. One good progress report after another. I know the prayers and fasting are paying off! Keep them coming!

Yesterday Kori had ALL of her 200 plus stitches removed by Cheryl. 

As Cheryl was removing her stitches the incision where her drain had been started bleeding pretty bad. Apparently a blood clot had formed inside the incision. Not sure what cause the clot to UN-clot but it did. A lot of blood made its way out and Russ said as a result almost all of her swelling in her face went away!

She was FINALLY allowed to brush her teeth...

...and it looks like it was HARD work.

 Kori was also moved from ICU into a regular room and her favorite nurse Chioma is back at her side. Russ said Chioma is so nice and takes really good care of "Miss Kori".

We hope Chioma can help Kori wash her hair today. She is looking a little like a Star Wars character with those funky braids. I know it was just "May the 4th" but come on!

Kori has been working so hard with Physical Therapy.

I was able to talk to her on the phone a couple days ago...MY HIGHLIGHT for the week...She said walking "Is SO HARD!" Her brain still isn't communicating very well with her left side and it takes ALL her concentration to move her left foot. 

Here she is with her running shoes on.

She'll be running again before we know it.

I was so happy I was able to talk to her on the phone. She sounded just like herself, she had lots of personality and if I hadn't known better I wouldn't have guessed she had MAJOR brain surgery ONE week ago.

She is so amazing. 

We still do not know when she will be coming home but at the rate she is going it should be soon.
